General Session: Preparing for Healthcare Reform

The final version of healthcare reform remains to be written, but it is certain that change - from both public and private payers - is coming.  To survive in a reformed environment, providers need to make significant changes to all aspects of their operations, starting now.  Given the uncertainty surrounding reform, however, the challenge for providers and payers is determining what actions to take.

Join HFMA President and CEO Richard L. Clarke as he leads a discussion with our panel of industry experts on the strategies and tactics their organizations are using to position themselves for post-reform success.

Key topics to be discussed will include:

  • Working with clinicians to improve quality while reducing cost
  • Improving physician/hospital integration and alignment
  • Developing opportunities for providers to collaborate with payers

At the end of this session, you will be able to:

  • Identify the competencies organizations need to prepare for healthcare reform.
  • Evaluate strategic responses to anticipated reforms.
  • Integrate healthcare reform into your chapter's educational programming and strategic planning.
