Chicago, IL - August 30, 2012 - Today, the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) announced this year's winners of the MAP Award for Performance Improvement in Revenue Cycle.
The MAP Award for Performance Improvement recognizes healthcare organizations that demonstrate measurable improvement in a specific or multiple MAP Keys - key performance indicators that set the standard for revenue cycle excellence in the healthcare industry. This year's winners, the first recipients of the Performance Improvement award, have shown how their targeted improvement initiatives have improved financial performance.
"Winners of the MAP Award for Performance Improvement have demonstrated that they can do what it takes to move their revenue cycle metrics. Their commitment and hard work are an inspiration to others," said Joseph J. Fifer, HFMA's President and CEO.
John Vetsch, Director of Revenue Cycle Regional Health at Spearfish Regional Hospital, and winner of the inaugural award, added, "We're delighted to have been chosen as a recipient of the 2012 MAP Award for Performance Improvement in Revenue Cycle. Improving our financial performance took the efforts of our revenue cycle staff organization-wide and I commend their hard work.
