Chicago - March 13, 2013 - The Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) today announced that, following rigorous review, NCO Healthcare Services has once again met the "Peer Reviewed by HFMA®" standard for three of its services. HFMA recently reviewed NCO as part of the evaluation process necessary to maintain the HFMA Peer Reviewed designation.
The three services recently reviewed include:
- Eligibility Patient Advocacy Liaison Services (EPALS): Offers onsite/offsite/field visits for screening and assessment of self-pay accounts to identify potential linkage to medical and disability assistance. Also provides out-of-state Medicaid provider enrollment and billing services.
- Extended Office Services: Provides an extension of your business office to manage all, or a portion of the revenue cycle, including billing, clinical denials, and follow-up for all financial classes.
- Bad Debt and Legal Recovery Services: Offers third-party primary/secondary bad debt recovery services, coupled with an international footprint and a nationwide legal network.
“To be recognized again by HFMA in this regard is an outstanding accomplishment for NCO," says Pete Grandelli, Senior Vice President, NCO Healthcare Services. "This evaluation illustrates the proven value of these healthcare services, commitment to our clients, and positive contributions of our employees. We particularly appreciate this recognition given that HFMA’s Peer Review process is a longstanding and highly recognized institution in the healthcare industry.”
HFMA's Peer Review process is designed to provide healthcare financial managers with an objective third-party evaluation of products and services used in the healthcare workplace. The rigorous, 11-step process includes a panel review made up of current customers, prospects who have not made a purchase, and industry experts. Peer Review status of the product or service and its performance claims are based on effectiveness, quality and usability, price, value, and customer and technical support.
"We’re pleased to have NCO Healthcare Services renew their HFMA Peer Reviewed designation," says HFMA President and CEO Joseph J. Fifer, FHFMA, CPA. "The HFMA Peer Review process assures our members, through a rigorous evaluation, that the reviewed product or service meets an objective third-party evaluation that assesses overall effectiveness, quality, and value."
