Sept. 26—Employers with fewer than 50 employees will be unable to sign their employees up for healthcare coverage online through the insurance marketplaces until Nov. 1, one month later than originally planned, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Online enrollment through the Small Business Health Option Program (SHOP) marketplace, or exchange, was delayed until Nov. 1, although employers may still enroll their employees by phone, mail, or fax on Oct. 1, the scheduled start date. Additionally, employers may still gain an overview of the plans and premiums available in their area online beginning Oct. 1.

Extended telephone hours for the SHOP marketplace will be offered beginning Oct. 1.
