HFMA Asks, ‘What Brought You to ANI?’
This year, nearly 5,000 people will attend ANI: The 2013 HFMA National Institute—and a number of participants will experience ANI for the first time. During a special event for first-time attendees, those who are new to ANI shared what brought them to this year’s conference.
Katherine Knorr, controller, Methodist Hospital of Southern California, Arcadia, Calif.: “I’ve been in healthcare finance for 15 years, and I’m really looking forward to the networking opportunities ANI will provide. I’m also interested in learning about new regulations in healthcare finance and how these regulations will affect reimbursement.”
Clarissa Suiter, director, patient financial services, Beatrice Community Hospital, Beatrice, Neb.: “I’m interested in all things revenue cycle-related—everything from charge transparency to point-of-service collections. I know I won’t be able to attend every revenue cycle session I’m interested in, but I want to make sure I’m gaining as much information as possible to take back to my staff.”
Brenda Brown, senior vice president, GetixHealth, Grass Lake, Mich.: “This is actually the third time I’ve tried to make it to ANI, and each of the other times, something came up that made it impossible for me to attend. This year, I just want to take it all in, learn as much as possible, and see what my options are, particularly in the area of ICD-10.”
