Rocky Mountain High: Colorado Chapter Wins the Shelton Award!

The Colorado Chapter is the winner of this year's Robert M. Shelton Award for Sustained Chapter Excellence. The Shelton Award is the highest honor for chapters, recognizing exemplary service to members over the immediate past five years. The HFMA Board of Directors appoints a five-member committee of judges to determine the award winters. A list of past Shelton winners can be found on the Shelton Award page on the Chapter Leaders website.

Congratulations to the chapter and it's past five presidents who will receive the award at the 2012 Annual Chapter Presidents Dinner Meeting and Awards Presentation June 26 at ANI: The HFMA National Institute in Las Vegas.

Koonce to Receive Morgan Award

As announced in last month's Notes from National, HFMA's highest individual honor, the Frederick C. Morgan Individual Achievement Award, was awarded to Neil B. Koonce Jr., of the Tennessee Chapter!

Let's Hear It for Our Award-Winning Chapters

2011-12 was another successful year for chapters!

  • 30 C. Henry Hottum Awards for Educational Performance Improvement
  • 48 Awards of Excellence for Education (including Bronze, Silver, and Gold)
  • 30 Awards of Excellence for Certification
  • 45 Awards of Excellence for Membership

A detailed list of award winners was emailed to the 2011-12 and 2012-13 presidents. Awards will be presented at the Annual Chapter Presidents Dinner Meeting and Awards Presentation at ANI.

As for the overall CBSC goals, of the 68 HFMA chapters, 34 achieved 100 points.

Yerger Awards

The winners of the 2011-12 Yerger Awards have been announced. Anonymous feedback from the judges will be email to chapter presidents by the end of June. Congratulations to all the volunteers who are constantly crafting better ways to deliver services to our members. Check out the winners for great ideas that may be helpful to your chapter.
