At the July 15 lapsed member drop, you will see your member numbers drop. And although every lapsed member is reason for concern, it's particularly problematic when the member is also a chapter leader. As a lapsed member, the individual's name will no longer show up on your chapter roster-that means that he or she will stop receiving chapter communications, HFMA communications, and may lose access to the Chapter Leaders section of the website.

Lack of payment is most often due to misplaced paperwork or delays in businesses processing checks. To ensure that your leaders are all current members in good standing, pull a chapter download after July 15 to ensure that your leadership team is still listed. If some are missing, contact them and urge them to update their membership as soon as possible.
