An important component of the unit is an automated insurance verification tool, which includes processes to provide patient information, answer patient questions, and collect patient out-of-pocket amounts. This tool ensures that hospital staff has the most up-to-date information about patient financial obligations when communicating with patients prior to their arrival, including information from physicians.
