National Governance Committee

Recommendations to the National Governance Committee

Please Respond by July 31, 2008

The National Governance Committee will meet in August and October of this year to select a slate of officers for fiscal year 2009-10 and directors for fiscal years 2009-12.  The committee’s recommendations will be presented to the National Board of Directors at the November, 2008 board meeting.  The committee consists of: 

  • Mary Beth Briscoe, FHFMA, FACHE, CPA, Chairman, Governance Committee
  • Robert L. Broadway, FHFMA, Chairman, HFMA
  • Catherine A. Jacobson, FHFMA, CPA, Chairman-Elect, HFMA
  • David P. Canfield, FHFMA
  • Richard L. Clarke, DHA, FHFMA, President & CEO, HFMA
  • Richard Rodriguez, FHFMA
  • Joyce A. Zimowski, FHFMA, CPA 

The HFMA Board of Directors and the Governance Committee have identified the following desired competencies and characteristics for board members and officers for 2009-10.  First and foremost, the board and committee seek those individuals who have contributed positively to the healthcare field and/or HFMA and who have demonstrated leadership capabilities, including strategic/systems thinking and change management skills.

Consider persons who demonstrate Board Competencies. Nominees can be from provider or payer organizations. They can be involved in administrative or clinical positions.
