HFMA’s updated online career self-assessments are tools that allow healthcare financial professionals assess their own expertise and skills in critical areas of healthcare financial management and leadership. The self-assessments describe the knowledge and skills common to healthcare financial executives, managers and professional staff in a variety of healthcare settings and illustrate how complex and sophisticated today’s roles of healthcare finance professionals.

A self-assessment should be among the first steps you take when choosing a career path. Learning about yourself helps you select what direction to pursue.

Taking the self-assessment is easy.

You can also use the results of the skills assessment to initiate career development by acquiring the skills you need for a particular healthcare finance position. Your assessment results include:

  • Scoring Grid identifies your rating and skills in each self-assessment section
  • HFMA Resources: these relevant links help you initiate your career development
  • Scoring Key: this descriptive scale defines your rating in each corresponding section
  • This tool allows you to email the results to yourself

HFMA provides three levels of skills assessment:

This assessment helps you determine your readiness for the “patient-centered” health care business.
