Ms. Jacobson is the voluntary Chair of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) during the 2009-10 term, beginning June 1, 2009.

Ms. Jacobson is Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning & Finance, CFO, and Treasurer, Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois.

A member of HFMA since 1989, Ms. Jacobson’s involvement with the National Association includes serving on the Principles & Practices Board (1995-98 and 1998-01), serving as chair during 2000-01, the Strategic Planning Committee (2004-06 and 2008-10), serving as chair in 2008-09, the Board of Directors (2004-10), the Executive Committee (2005-10), and the Audit & Finance Committee (2006-10), serving as chair in 2007-08.  She has received the Follmer Bronze and Reeves Silver merit awards.

Ms. Jacobson, a Fellow of HFMA and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) received her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Bradley University, Peoria, Illinois.

Ms. Kuchka-Craig is the voluntary Chair-Elect of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) during the 2009-10 term, beginning June 1, 2009.

 

Ms. Kuchka-Craig is Corporate Vice President, Managed Care, MedStar Health, Columbia, Maryland.

 

A member of HFMA since 1993, Ms. Kuchka-Craig’s involvement with the National Association includes serving on the Managed Care Forum Advisory Council (1997-00), the Board of Examiners (2003-07), serving as chair during 2006-07, the National Advisory Councils (2005-06), the Strategic Planning Committee (2005-07 and 2008-10), serving as chair during 2008-09, the Board of Directors (2005-10), the Executive Committee (2006-10), and the Audit & Finance Committee (2007-10), serving as chair in 2008-09.  Ms. Kuchka-Craig has also served the Maryland Chapter as Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, President-Elect, and President.  She has received the Follmer Bronze, Reeves Silver, Muncie Gold, and Medal of Honor merit awards.

 

Ms. Kuchka-Craig, a Fellow of HFMA, received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and a Master of Science degree in Health Planning and Administration from The Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health, Baltimore, Maryland.

Mr. Adams is the voluntary Secretary/Treasurer of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) during the 2009-10 term, beginning June 1, 2009.

 

Mr. Adams is Senior Vice President/CFO, Holy Name Hospital, Teaneck, New Jersey.

 

A member of HFMA since 1979, Mr. Adams’ involvement with the National Association includes serving as Chapter Liaison Representative (2001-02), the Board of Directors (2002-05 and 2009-10), the Executive Committee (2003-05 and 2009-10), and the Audit & Finance Committee (2009-10), serving as chair during 2009-10.  Mr. Adams has also served the New Jersey Chapter as Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, President-Elect, and President.  He has received the Follmer Bronze, Reeves Silver, Muncie Gold, and Medal of Honor merit awards.

 

Mr. Adams, a Fellow of HFMA, received his BS in Accounting from Seton Hall University, South Orange, New Jersey, and his MBA in Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Rutherford, New Jersey.

 

Richard L. Clarke, DHA, FHFMA

Dr. Clarke is President and CEO of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), Westchester, Illinois, a professional membership association with more than 35,000 members in 70 chapters who share an interest in the financial management of the delivery of healthcare services.  He has held this position since June 1986.

 

From 1980 to 1986, Mr. Clarke held positions with Swedish Health Systems in Englewood, Colorado, including Senior Vice President of Finance and CFO.  Prior to 1980, he was employed at hospitals in Florida.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Distribution from Bradley University, Peoria, Illinois (1970), a master’s degree in Business Administration in management/finance from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida (1972), and a Doctor of Health Administration (DHA) degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC (2005). 

 

Dr. Clarke attained Fellowship in HFMA in 1983.  He also was president of the Colorado Chapter of HFMA, served on the HFMA National Matrix, and was a member of HFMA’s Principles and Practices Board.

 

Dr. Clarke currently is the Immediate Past Chair of the Accrediting Commission on Education in Health Administration (ACEHSA), having served in various capacities for that organization since 1997.  He also is a former chair of AHA Financial Solutions, Inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary of the American Hospital Association).  Additionally, he has served on the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Seventh District Advisory Council.  Dr. Clarke currently holds an adjunct faculty position in the Department of Health Systems Management at Rush University in Chicago.

 

Dr. Clarke has written numerous articles on healthcare finance and co-authored the books, The Crisis in Health Care: Costs, Choices and Strategies, published by Jossey-Bass in 1990, Capitalizing Medical Groups: Positioning Physicians for the Future, published jointly by HFMA and MGMA in 1998, and Beyond Managed Care:  How Consumers and Technology are Changing the Future of Health Care, published by Jossey-Bass Inc. in 2000.

 

Peter DeAngelis, Jr., FHFMA, CPA

Mr. DeAngelis is a voluntary Director of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) during the 2009-12 term, beginning June 1, 2009.

 

Mr. DeAngelis is Executive Vice President and CFO, Catholic Health East, Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.

 

A member of HFMA since 1980, Mr. DeAngelis’ involvement with the National Association includes serving on the National Advisory Councils (2005-07), the Strategic Planning Committee (2009-10), and the Board of Directors (2009-12).  Mr. DeAngelis has also served the Metropolitan Philadelphia Chapter as Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, President-Elect, and President.  He has received the Follmer Bronze, Reeves Silver, and Muncie Gold merit awards.

 

Mr. DeAngelis, a Fellow of HFMA and a Certified Public Accountant, received his Bachelor Degree in Accounting and his MBA in accounting from LaSalle University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

 

Edward J. Giniat, CPA

Mr. Giniat is a voluntary Director of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) during the 2008-11 term, beginning June 1, 2008.

 

Mr. Giniat is Partner, Industry Sector Leader, Health Care, KPMG LLP, Chicago, Illinois.

 

A member of HFMA since 1983, Mr. Giniat’s involvement with the Association includes serving on the Strategic Planning Committee (2008-10) and the Board of Directors (2008-11).  Mr. Giniat has also served the Northeast Ohio Chapter as Membership Chair, as a Member of the Annual Chapter Institute, and a Member of the Program Committee.  He has received the Follmer Bronze merit award.

 

Mr. Giniat, a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana.

A member of HFMA since 1986, Ms. Hull’s involvement with the National Association includes serving on the National Advisory Councils (2001-03 and 2009-10), as chair of the Executive Council in 2009-10, as Regional Executive (2004-05), on the Davis Chapter Management System Task Force (2006-07), on the Regional Executives Council (2006-08), serving as chair in 2007-08, on the Board of Directors (2006-09 and 2009-10), and on the Executive Committee (2007-09).  Ms. Hull also served the Wisconsin Chapter as Treasurer, Secretary, President-Elect, and President.  She has received the Follmer Bronze, Reeves Silver, Muncie Gold, and Medal of Honor merit awards.

 

Ms. Hull, a Fellow of HFMA, received her Bachelor of Business Administration from Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and her Masters in Business from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Mr. Lawson is a voluntary Director of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) during the 2007-10 term, beginning June 1, 2007.

 

Mr. Lawson is Executive Vice President & CFO, Baptist Health South Florida, Coral Gables, Florida.  He is also Chairman of the Board of Catholic Health Services in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

A member of HFMA since 1980, Mr. Lawson’s involvement with the National Association includes serving on the National Matrix (1987-88), the National Advisory Councils (2006-08), serving as chairman of the Finance & Accounting Council during 2007-08, the Audit & Finance Committee (2007-10), the Executive Committee (2008-10), and the Board of Directors (2007-10).  Mr. Lawson also served the Colorado Chapter as Vice President and Program Chair, Treasurer, and President.  He has received the Follmer Bronze and Reeves Silver merit awards.

Mr. Lee, a Fellow of HFMA and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), received his Bachelor of Arts degree with emphasis in business and finance from the School of Business Administration, Sao Paulo, Brazil, and his Masters in Public Health and Masters in Health Administration from Loma Linda University, Loma Linda, California.

 

Mary Mirabelli

Ms. Mirabelli is Chief Project Officer & Vice-President, Implementations, CS Group, HCA-The Healthcare Company, Nashville, Tennessee.

 

A member of HFMA since 2003, Ms. Mirabelli’s involvement with the National Association includes serving on the National Advisory Councils (2006-08), serving as chairman of the Revenue Cycle/Patient Financial Services Council during 2007-08, the Strategic Planning Committee (2008-10), and the Board of Directors (2007-10). 

 

Ms. Mirabelli holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, and a Masters Degree in Management with concentrations in Finance and Marketing, from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois.  Ms. Mirabelli graduated with honors.
