Online Certification Exams are available at ANI: The Healthcare Finance Conference on Tuesday, June 24, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm with advanced registration. HFMA Coaching Courses are also offered at ANI. The instructor-led courses are a review for those who completed self study, or introduction to those who have not. Please Note:
- HFMA Certification Exams will not be available on the third Saturday of each month due to system upgrades. Upcoming unavailable dates:5/17/08, 6/21/08, 7/19/08, 8/16/08, 9/20/08, 10/18/08, 11/15/08 and 12/20/08.
- Only active HFMA members are eligible to take an exam.
- Due to limited space, the HFMA National office (Westchester, IL) is not available for testing.

Register for an Exam
To register for an exam, submit a completed exam application (proctor name and a specific exam date must be included) with payment, at least 10 business days prior to the requested exam date. Applications received less than 10 business days prior to the exam date for charge card payment and 15 days prior to the exam day for payment by check, will be assessed an additional $25.00 expedite processing fee. Scheduling of exam dates requested less than one week prior to an exam date cannot be guaranteed.
After payment is processed and approximately three business days prior to the scheduled exam, each the candidate and the designated proctor will receive an email with a unique password that is valid only for the exam date.
Phone registrations are NOT accepted for exams. An exam application must be submitted with payment, as indicated on the form.
Interested in becoming a proctor?
All current certified members are eligible to serve as a proctor for HFMA certification exams. Approved proctors are persons who have read and greed to abide by policies and procedures stated in the Proctor Handbook. To be on the approved list of proctors, a completed Proctor Affadvit (contained at the beginning of the Handbook) form must be submitted to HFMA National as it states on the form.
