The Forums Leadership Council has selected the PFS Forum as the first of 4 Forums to be enhanced with the CoP tools and management process. Each Forum will undergo a similar process, using a phased in approach over the course of the next three fiscal years.
To date the PFS Forum Peer Leader Council has taken the following steps to enhancement:
1. Created a design team, made up of the current volunteers and two inside and outside perspectives
2. The design team has established a mission, vision
3. Revised the Revenue Cycle Body of Knowledge (BOK) to use as the content driver around which the community will conduct learning events, create knowledge artifacts and create peer driven collaborative experiences.
4. Established a first and second level taxonomy using the BOK elements of the revenue cycle to manage community web based resources.
5. Notified the current PFS Forum subscriber base that they will receive new tools and opportunities for collaboration as the enhancement process steps are completed, which are to be seamless to the subscribers.
6. Began the process of considering a name change to the Revenue Cycle Community of Practice when the product is re-launched at ANI 2007.
7. Drafted communication plans to educate PFS Forum subscribers about the enhancementbenefits and how to use the new community tools as part of their existing subscriptions for the 2007-2008 membership year.
8. Conducted a survey to gain member feedback on the name change of the PFS Forum to the Revenue Cycle Community of Practice. The survey results supported the name change which will be evident at ANI when the product is relaunched as the Revenue Cycle CoP.
The PFS Forum CoP design team is meeting bi-weekly until ANI to ensure that the enhancement process is conducted with minimal disruption to all subscribers and is positioned as a welcomed change to re-invigorate interest and engagement of HFMA members whose work is impacted by the revenue cycle.
