HFMA submitted comments for the record of the May 26, 2005 House Ways and Means Committee hearing, "A Review of the Tax-Exempt Hospital Sector." In the comments, HFMA outlined the 10 attributes of healthcare providers that characterize them as tax-exempt institutions. These attributes include but are not limited to charity care.
