April 2008 Proctor Update
Thank you for agreeing to serve as a proctor for the CHFP
Certification Exam and supporting the HFMA certification
program. We would like to this opportunity to request some
information from you and to share some information with you.
A request … Because
the on-line proctor listing pulls information directly from
member records, would you please take a few minutes and confirm
that your HFMA member record contains accurate contact
information. You can update your record by doing the
following:
-
Logging into "My
Account" from the
Membership link on the HFMA
homepage (You will need your username and password to
access. If you need this, contact the HFMA Member
Service Center at (800) 252.4362, and press 2). This will take
you to your "My Account" page.
-
To view your
current contact information on file, click on your name or
ID# located under the "Personal Profile" heading in the
left-hand navigation.
-
Once at this page,
you can edit your information by selecting the "edit" button
at the top of the page. Make changes as needed and
then hit the "submit" button.
Some information
... We have updated the Proctor Handbook to further clarify
some on the installation procedures and troubleshooting tips.
to access the Handbook.
Please take some time to look through it and refresh yourself on
the installation procedures.
Downloading the browser
... Because the proctor is responsible for loading
the browser needed for exam administration and ensuring full
functionality, we would like to provide a few reminders that may
assist you with this process.
-
For
installation instructions and checklist of hardware/system
requirements, refer to the “Installing Questionmark
Secure” in Section 2 of the
Proctor Handbook.
-
Load the browser
a few days in advance of the scheduled exam to ensure the
computer will allow the browser to be fully functional. We
do not recommend using a wireless environment as it is
seldom fully reliable.
-
Allow time to
work with your IT staff to resolve any potential technical
issues related to the testing environment. While you may
not access the exam until the scheduled test date, you can
install and test the browser in advance of that date.
-
If you are able
to access the sample test and see the first question, the
connection has worked. If you are unable to access the
first question on this sample test, installation is NOT
successful. Seek guidance from your network administrator
for requisite installation procedures and system
requirements unique to your location.
-
Test the browser
functionality again on the day of the exams. Networks often
revert to default settings daily. These defaults may not
allow the testing browser to be fully functional and may require
assistance from the network administrator to reset them.
-
The browser
should be installed only on the computer from which the exam
will be administered and the exam proctored by an HFMA
National-approved proctor.
-
To make sure you
always have the most current version, please reinstall
Questionmark Secure each time you will be administering a
test.
If you have any questions or if we can help in any way, please
don’t hesitate to contact the certification department at
1-800-252-4362, ask for certification, or
certification@hfma.org.
