Aug. 22—HFMA awarded six hospitals and health systems with the 2013 MAP Award for Performance Improvement in Revenue Cycle.
The MAP Award for Performance Improvement recognizes healthcare organizations that demonstrate measurable improvement in MAP Keys, or performance indicators that set the standard for revenue cycle excellence in the healthcare industry. The award demonstrated that the organizations’ targeted improvement initiatives have strengthened their financial performance.
“Winners of the MAP Award for Performance Improvement have demonstrated that they can do whatever it takes to move their revenue cycle metrics,” said Joseph J. Fifer, FHFMA, CPA, president and CEO, HFMA. “Their commitment and hard work are an inspiration to others."
Winners of the improvement award included Blessing Hospital, Quincy, Ill.; Columbia Basin Health Association, Othello, Wash.; Copper Queen Community Hospital, Bisbee, Ariz.; Norwalk Hospital, Norwalk, Conn.; Rochester General Health System, Rochester, N.Y.; and Sisters of Charity Providence Hospitals, Columbia, S.C.
John Midolo, vice president, revenue cycle, Rochester General Health System, said improving his organization’s financial performance took the efforts of our revenue cycle staff organizationwide.
“We look forward to sharing our performance improvement initiatives with others at the HFMA MAP Event so they can generate real results that improve performance in their organizations,” he said.
The awards will be distributed at HFMA's MAP Event, to be held Oct. 27 -29 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
