Summary

Technology standardization can be an effective way for organizations to drive greater cost and outcome predictability. It can also help providers better understand and manage their delivery infrastructure. However, attaining alignment across all of the clinical, operational, and financial stakeholders necessary to achieve standardization within service lines or across multiple facilities is incredibly complex and difficult to achieve. Additionally, when standardization occurs across a health system, providers may find what works well for a larger hospital in the system does not always translate well to smaller or rural hospitals.

This webinar examines standardization within the laboratory, oncology, IT, and imaging departments, along with the best methods to achieve standardization, the trade-offs that come with doing so, and the influence of standardization on clinical issues and service. This also describes the difference between a best-of-breed approach versus standardization, and discusses negotiation guidelines and tactics.

After This Webinar You'll Be Able To:

  • Know when to consider standardization in the laboratory, oncology, IT, and imaging departments.
  • Describe the tradeoffs associated with standardization.
  • Understand the impact of standardization on clinical issues and service.
