Summary

Centers for Medicare and Medicare Services (CMS) will publish the CY 2017 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule in the Federal Register in the final quarter of 2016. CMS previously published the proposed payments rule in the Federal Register on July 7, 2016. This proposed rule updated payment policies, payment rates, and other provisions for services furnished under the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) on or after Jan. 1, 2017. The rule supports a strategy to provision a healthcare system that results in better care, smarter spending, and healthier people.

This webinar summarizes the changes created by the final rule, which includes the items confirmed by and/or modified by the final rule. More specifically, this webinar explores the major provisions of the rule including conversion factor and RVU changes, primary care and telehealth, potentially mis-valued codes, diabetes prevention program expansion, MACRA provisions, and other general provision changes.

After This Webinar You'll Be Able To:

  • Cite the major changes to the 2017 PFS final rule
  • Understand the impact of the changes for physicians and the health system
  • Identify the changes that will most likely impact your organization
  • Determine the 2017 roadmap for physicians
