      We continue to hear about great advances in medical technologies, but what do they mean for the average person? In this insightful session, Dr. Pillay will share how innovative digital technologies are making "physicians optional” and upending every aspect of healthcare, enabling patients to take center stage by cutting costs, monitoring health, and speeding up the pace of care—all allowing patients to take control of their own health. 
       

      Session 3: Creating an Integrated Consumer Experience
      Scott Phillips, Director, Patient Access; Integrated Experience Department, Texas Health Resources

      In this session, you’ll hear how one organization has created a multi-phase plan to standardize patient financial communications alongside its system-wide implementation of a new EHR. You’ll explore tools and processes used prior to, during, and after roll-out to ensure consistency across facilities, as well as examine research that ties patient financial communications to the system's overall integrated consumer experience strategy. These efforts have resulted in a 40-percentile increase in Press Ganey registration scores and a $7 million increase in upfront patient collections.
