President’s Welcome

I am honored and privileged to serve as President of the Alabama Chapter of HFMA for 2023-2024 and lead an EXCEPTIONAL team of leaders who are always ready to dig in, learn and take the Alabama chapter to the next level.

Each year the incoming President decides on a theme or vision that best describes their upcoming focus for the year. The theme for the upcoming year is “Dream, Dare, Deliver”…all action words, which embodies the spirit of innovation and forward thinking that I believe is essential for our chapter to thrive and continue to be the “go to” organization to provide education for our members. This task requires us to be visionary, strategic and innovative in our approach. Dreaming is the first step towards achieving any goal. We must be willing to think outside of the box and imagine new possibilities to better serve our members. However, dreaming alone is not enough and we as leaders must dare to take bold actions, step outside our comfort zones, challenge the status quo and take calculated risks —even though we might fail at times —to deliver on our commitments to our members. We owe it to ourselves, our members, our sponsors and our volunteers to move forward collectively and deliver exceptional education, networking and community service opportunities.

Our focus this year will be to expand our education platform to offer more opportunities for personal advancement, both in-person and online. These opportunities will be available in formats to meet the needs of both HFMA members and those who are non-members through various certifications and coaching sessions. We will collaborate with other chapters within Region 5 to take advantage of already successful programs to offer these to Alabama members. We will also be partnering this year with the Blue Star Salute Foundation to assist military Veterans with various needs and to provide community service opportunities across the state. Most importantly, we are focused on volunteer engagement and want to connect members to opportunities to get involved with the chapter in various ways. Dream, Dare, Deliver is about action and We Need You! We encourage members who want to get involved to please reach out to us with questions.
