The purpose of the Provider Scholarship Program is to help defray cost of the attending the HFMA Georgia Chapter Institutes for healthcare professionals who are members of HFMA and are employed with healthcare providers such as hospitals, physician practices, etc. The amount and quantity of scholarships awarded will depend on the funding and specific underwriting received by sponsors.

Scholarships will be awarded based on several criteria, including:

  • Current HFMA member
  • HFMA volunteer involvement
  • Diversity in provider-based applicants
  • Number of applicants
  • Available funding and sponsorships

Scholarships can be used to cover the registration fees and up to two nights at the host hotel. The number of hotel nights covered will be based on approval from the Scholarship Committee. Travel expenses are not included.

The Scholarship winners will be determined based on blind (name, contact and company information of applicant hidden from judging panel) voting by the members of the HFMA Georgia Chapter Education Content/Logistics Planning Committee. All awards are final and based solely on the discretion of this committee.

Any scholarship awarded but not utilized (for example attendee was awarded a scholarship covering the conference registration fee but was unable to attend) may be given to other applicants at the sole discretion of the HFMA Georgia Chapter President during the conference.

Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Georgia Chapter brings people together within the healthcare industry who specialize or serve the financial and revenue cycle segments of the industry to educate, network, and help promote career paths within healthcare finance. The three main goals of the HFMA: Provide quality education, determine and pursue future membership, and promote participation.

HFMA Georgia Chapter has scholarships available for students interested in attending our Spring and Fall Institutes to learn and network with providers, vendors, and integrators within the healthcare finance space.

Each student will be paired with a mentor to guide them, provide insight, and continue to engage them beyond the institute.

Students attending the Chapter Institute will make important contacts within the industry for potential internships and careers! Students will also learn about the dynamic and changing healthcare industry as it relates to revenue cycle and finance as well as start learning about a career path where patients and providers can be impacted and influenced in a positive way.

Scholarships will be awarded based on several criteria, including:

  • Current Student at a university registered for classes and in good standing
  • Interest in learning more about/pursuing a career in Healthcare Finance or a related field
  • Number of applicants
  • Available funding and sponsorships
