Position Summary:

The Compliance Coding Auditor/Educator serves in a support role to the healthcare system through ongoing auditing and education regarding coding guidelines. Analyzes clinical documentation to ensure clear, thorough documentation that accurately reflects the diagnoses, procedures, and level of care provided, including inpatient and outpatient services. Assists in the development of education and training programs regarding ICD-9, E&M and CPT-4 coding. Provides education and training with regard to proper coding under accepted coding guidelines. Maintains competence with changes and updates related to coding. Assists in the development of auditing plans for ongoing medical record audits and billing audits to ensure appropriate codes have been assigned. Assists in the development of action plans for coding practices as necessary and required by the healthcare system’s policies and procedures. Assists with billing inquiries as requested and reports information to the appropriate department manager.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

Physician office and/or hospital based coding experience required

Experience:

Extensive knowledge of CPT & ICD-9-CM guidelines necessary.

License/Registration/Certifications:

CPC or CCS required, appropriate auditing experience

Position Summary:

The Financial Analyst II – Accountant within the accounting office is responsible for general ledger accounting and financial reporting for Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. This position applies generally accepted accounting principles to perform assigned general accounting duties related to the creation and completion of accurate accounting analysis and transactions necessary for the development of timely and accurate financial reporting. This position will develop, edit, update, and maintain workpapers for assigned areas of responsibility. Prepares financial schedules and analysis, adjusting journal entries, and account reconciliations as required by specific job role. Gathers, analyzes, and documents business requirements to fulfill processes and identify areas of improvement. Occasionally works over the standard required work hours to accomplish job tasks and to propel area forward. Requires basic to intermediate critical thinking, self-management, and communication skills. This position performs general ledger accounting processes for basic to intermediate financial areas. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Experience At least 3+ years of relevant accounting/financial analysis experience required. Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the Manager, the Sr. Financial Analyst 1 – Reporting (Accounting) is responsible for applying principles of accounting to perform various general accounting duties related to the completion of timely and accurate monthly financial statements for Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System and related entities. He/she will record transactions for designated sections of the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System financial statements and will be responsible for having a working knowledge of all other areas. Be responsible for maintaining the financial records for assigned general ledger areas, and for reviewing, auditing, and preparing analysis of sections of the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System financial statements.

This position will also be responsible for month and year-end financial statement preparation, for both internal and external purposes, and SEC reporting. Will work closely with the Manager – Accounting and is also responsible for providing support to other department directors/managers. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Education Required – Bachelor’s degree Accounting or related field Preferred – Master’s degree Accounting or related field (Masters in Accountancy or MBA, with concentration in Accounting)

Experience Required – 6 years of relevant accounting experience
