HFMA Summary: MSSP Revised Benchmark Rebasing Methodology Final Rule

June 21, 2016 2:06 pm

On June 6, 2016, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) placed on public display a final rule that would make important changes to the benchmarking rebasing methodology used in the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP), among other changes. Under the MSSP, providers of services and suppliers that participate in an Accountable Care Organization (ACO) continue to receive traditional fee-for-service (FFS) payments under Parts A and B, but the ACO can receive a shared savings payment if it meets specified quality and savings requirements. This final rule is published in the June 10, 2016 issue of the Federal Register.
