Cloudmed, an R1 company, helps health systems get paid for the care they provide

December 5, 2022 5:13 pm

How do you help healthcare organizations navigate the biggest challenges in healthcare?

Cloudmed helps health systems get healthier by ensuring they get paid for the care they provide. Using our powerful CloudmedAI™ Platform and deep subject matter expertise, we help clients solve the complex problem of accurate payments for hundreds of millions of patient interactions each year. As providers cope with the worst financial outcomes and outlook in recent history, Cloudmed solutions deliver the flexibility to meet them anywhere they are in their revenue cycle journey. Our mission and our people make a difference by uncovering funds that can be used to hire doctors, nurses, and other essential practitioners, build healthcare facilities such as birthing or cancer centers, and fund outreach programs to improve the health of local communities.

What advice would you offer to healthcare leaders when choosing among vendors?

Selecting a revenue cycle partner starts with understanding that working with a strategic RCM vendor is a long-term partnership, so compatibility with that partner matters. Go into the selection process with specific goals and objectives that you want to achieve. Look for vendors with an established reputation for quality and deep domain expertise that can augment the staff you already have in place. And, of course, be sure to evaluate the underlying solution technology for security and compatibility with your EHR and other IT tools. With cybersecurity a top priority for healthcare providers, make sure the vendor platform you choose will meet or exceed your security requirements. Also, consider the advantages of more complete RCM solutions over best-of-breed tools and look for ways to leverage fewer partners to accomplish more work.

What is some advice you can give providers for the successful implementation of a new product or service?

Successful implementation begins with a strong partnership and alignment between the client and the vendor that sets up future state planning. It is the vendor’s responsibility to make the experience smooth and set proper expectations. From there you can jointly develop a comprehensive implementation plan that defines requirements and success measures. It’s important to collaborate with stakeholders to get buy in and alignment across affected departments. Perhaps the most important component of a successful implementation is clear communication between client and partner throughout the process, so build regular progress meetings into the plan and know what the escalation process is to quickly resolve any snags.
