A member of HFMA since 1993, Ms. Kuchka-Craig’s involvement with the National Association includes serving on the Managed Care Forum Advisory Council (1997-2000); the Board of Examiners (2003-07), serving as chair during 2006-07; the National Advisory Councils (2005-06); the Strategic Planning Committee (2005-07 and 2008-11), serving as chair during 2009-10; the Board of Directors (2005-11); the Executive Committee (2006-11), serving as chair in 2010-11; and the Audit & Finance Committee (2007-11), serving as chair in 2008-09. Ms. Kuchka-Craig has also served the Maryland Chapter as Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, President-Elect, and President. Ms. Kuchka-Craig, a Fellow of HFMA, received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pa., and a Master of Science degree in Health Planning and Administration from The Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health, Baltimore, Md.
Gregory M. Adams, FHFMA

A member of HFMA since 1979, Mr. Adams’ involvement with the National Association includes serving as Chapter Liaison Representative (2001-02); the Board of Directors (2002-05 and 2009-11); the Executive Committee (2003-05 and 2009-11); and the Audit & Finance Committee (2009-11), serving as chair during 2009-10; and the Strategic Planning Committee (2009-11), serving as chair in 2010-11. Ralph E. Lawson, FHFMA, CPA

Mr. Lawson is the voluntary Secretary/Treasurer of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) during the 2010-11 term, beginning June 1, 2010.
Mr. Lawson is Executive Vice President and CFO, Baptist Health South Florida, Coral Gables, Fla. He is also Chairman of the Board of Catholic Health Services in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
A member of HFMA since 1980, Mr. Lawson’s involvement with the National Association includes serving on the Matrix (1987-88); the National Advisory Councils (2006-07); the Audit & Finance Committee (2007-11), serving as chair 2010-11; the Executive Committee (2008-11); and the Board of Directors (2007-11). Mr. Lawson also served the Colorado Chapter as Vice President and Program Chair, Treasurer, and President. He has received the Follmer Bronze, Reeves Silver, and Muncie Gold merit awards.
Mr. Lawson, a CPA, received his Bachelor of Business Degree (cum laude) from the University of Colorado School of Business, Boulder, Colo., and his Masters Degree of Business Administration (with distinction) from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pa.
Richard L. Clarke, DHA, FHFMA
President and CEO
Dr. Clarke is President and CEO of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), Westchester, Illinois, a professional membership association with more than 35,000 members in 70 chapters who share an interest in the financial management of the delivery of healthcare services. He has held this position since June 1986.
From 1980 to 1986, Mr. Clarke held positions with Swedish Health Systems in Englewood, Colo., including Senior Vice President of Finance and CFO. Prior to 1980, he was employed at hospitals in Florida.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Distribution from Bradley University, Peoria, Ill. (1970), a master’s degree in Business Administration in management/finance from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Fla. (1972), and a Doctor of Health Administration (DHA) degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, S.C. (2005).
Dr. Clarke attained Fellowship in HFMA in 1983. He also was president of the Colorado Chapter of HFMA, served on the HFMA National Matrix, and was a member of HFMA’s Principles and Practices Board.
Dr. Clarke is a past Chair of the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education, having served in various capacities for that organization since 1997. He is also a former chair of AHA Financial Solutions, Inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary of the American Hospital Association). Additionally, he has served on the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Advisory Council. Currently he serves on several committees and the Board of Directors of CHRISTUS Health, a multistate Catholic healthcare system headquartered in Dallas, Texas, as well as the Finance and Strategy Committee for Catholic Healthcare Partners in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Clarke holds an instructor faculty position in the Department of Health Systems Management at Rush University in Chicago and the MBA in Health program for the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla.
Kiran N. Batheja, FHFMA
