HFMA and Hospitals magazine collaborate to bring global healthcare community closer

HFMA and Hospitals magazine are working together to promote hospital and health system news around the globe.

HFMA and Hospitals magazine, a Middle East healthcare magazine, have entered an agreement that allows both organizations to share more widely their content and expertise in hospital management and healthcare finance.

“Hospitals magazine is honored to work with HFMA on this agreement,” said Simon Chammas, president of Arab Health Media Communication, and publisher of Hospitals magazine. “Our readers and audience represent hospitals and health systems based in the United States and around the world who are working across global boarders. Sharing our message with the HFMA audience furthers awareness and knowledge of new health-related technologies, medical discoveries and healthcare innovation.”

Created in 2010, Hospitals magazine is an English-written healthcare magazine that circulates throughout the Gulf area, the Levant, and North Africa. New editions are published bi-monthly by Arab Health Media Communication. Hospitals has a total circulation of 58,000 copies.

As part of the agreement, Hospitals magazine is promoting HFMA’s one-day educational event at the Global Health Exhibition in Riyadh on Oct. 31. Hospitals will feature an ad and article on the educational programming, supported by the Saudi Ministry of Health and sponsored by Selat, a revenue cycle management consulting firm and its training arm, Nawa.

“This agreement is an exciting addition to our current activity in the Middle East health and healthcare markets,” says Mary Mirabelli, HFMA senior VP of Strategy. “We are pleased to share our healthcare finance expertise with Hospitals readership and to help HFMA members learn more about healthcare in the Middle East.”

Through this exchange of content and promotional opportunities between Hospitals magazine and HFMA publications, including HFMA Daily and HFMA International Update enewsletter, HFMA and Arab Health Media will expand their audiences and offer healthcare professionals in the United States and the Middle East a view into how their international colleagues are using innovative healthcare management and finance strategies to move their organizations forward.

“This agreement compliments much of HFMA’s work in the region, including launch of a revenue cycle management certification targeted toward the Middle East region – the Certified Revenue Cycle Representative-GCC (CRCR-GCC). In addition, HFMA offers health professionals around the world a curated international membership that includes unlimited HFMA website content and webinars, along with discounts on revenue cycle and healthcare finance certifications and courses,” said Mirabelli.

The first HFMA article published in Hospitals, “What’s cost effectiveness of health going to take?” by HFMA’s National Chair, Aaron R. Crane, shares the shift in thinking that must occur to achieve cost effectiveness of health (see page 10 of the May/June issue of Hospitals). Cost effectiveness of health is HFMA’s just cause – a vision of a future state where people and economies globally enjoy the benefits of optimal health and productivity.
