President’s Welcome
Daylight is shorter. The temperature is cooler. Leaves on the trees are beginning to turn colors and pumpkin spice is showing up all over the place. Signs that Autumn Season is upon us.
One of my favorite seasons is Fall! One of those reasons is because of the Fall MT HFMA Conference that happens every year in October! It’s no different this year as we are preparing now for another exceptional conference filled with education, networking and, of course, the famous MT HFMA fun! Make sure that your calendars are marked for this event October 25-27, 2023, at The Northern Hotel in Billings, MT. Register Now!
Would you like to be part of the committee that plans the FUN? Get engaged with the Networking/Social Committee! This group is responsible for the past Pub Crawls held at our fall conference and if you would like to get involved with this fun group, email Jen Whipple at [email protected] to be added to the invitation.
I’d like to bring to your attention that we also have a scholarship opportunity to attend the 25th Anniversary of the Western Region Symposium in Las Vegas January 21-24, 2024. This scholarship opportunity is in memory of our dear friend and dedicated member of the MT HFMA, Paul Soukup. Paul was a member of HFMA for more than 28 years and even served on the Board of Directors for the Montana Chapter during this time. He was passionate about healthcare and always encouraged us to learn more.
We will award two scholarships to include a maximum of $1,500 each to assist in covering airfare, registration & hotel [excludes luggage fees, seat upgrade fees, food, drink, and rideshare/taxi]. Applications must be submitted via this link by September 29, 2023. Scholarships will be awarded by October 13, 2023, and the scholarship recipients must register to attend by October 27, 2023.
To qualify for the Paul Soukup Memorial Scholarships, you must:
- Be a Provider Member of the MT Chapter of HFMA.
- Be in the first 2 years of your current position.
- Commit to participate on a MT HFMA committee for 1 year.
- Complete the application.
Last, but certainly not least, I want to extend a huge thank you to our Business Partners. Truly, we can’t do this thing we call HFMA without their support and contributions. I’m not just talking about monetary contributions. I’m thankful for them engaging in the chapter on committees like Program, Membership, Social Networking, Certification, Founders, etc. Many of our Business Partners also volunteer for leadership positions on our Board of Directors. When you see one of our Business Partners, please take the time to visit with them and thank them for all their contributions.
