Northern California Chapter

President’s Welcome

Dear HFMA Northern California Members and Colleagues,

It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as your incoming President of the HFMA Northern California Chapter. HFMA has long stood as the premier professional association for healthcare finance leaders grounded in a mission to lead the financial management of health care through education, collaboration, and thought leadership. Our chapter plays a vital role in bringing this mission to life at the local level, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve such an engaged and accomplished community.

At its core, HFMA exists to equip healthcare finance professionals with relevant education, practical tools, and meaningful connections to navigate an increasingly complex industry. As President, my focus will be on ensuring our chapter continues to deliver high‑quality educational experiences that are timely, practical, and inclusive supporting members at every stage of their career, from students and early professionals to seasoned executives.

Equally important is our commitment to inclusion and belonging. HFMA’s national organization clearly affirms that diversity of background, perspective, and experience strengthens both our profession and our association. In that spirit, the Northern California Chapter will continue working to ensure that everyone feels welcome and valued regardless of role, organization type, career path, or tenure in HFMA. This chapter should be a place where all voices are heard, and all members can see themselves represented and supported.

Engagement is the heartbeat of a strong chapter. HFMA thrives when members move beyond participation and into connection: through volunteering, committee involvement, events, mentorship, and peer collaboration. Nationally, HFMA emphasizes engagement to grow professionally while strengthening the association as a whole. Locally, we will continue creating meaningful opportunities for members to connect, learn from one another, and actively shape the future of our chapter.

Above all, I want the HFMA Northern California Chapter to remain a place for all. A professional home where healthcare finance professionals can learn, lead, and grow together. Whether you are seeking education, community, leadership development, or simply a trusted network of peers, there is a place for you here.

Thank you to our Board, committee members, volunteers, and past leaders whose dedication makes this chapter exceptional. I look forward to serving alongside you and to an exciting year ahead; one grounded in learning, inclusion, engagement, and shared purpose.

With gratitude and enthusiasm,

Brandon Burnett
President
HFMA Northern California Chapter
