General Description

The Certification Chair is the chapter’s primary point of contact for certification information retrieved from the HFMA national website.

Goals, Objectives and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain processes to encourage members to become certified, and to maintain their certifications once they are earned.
  • Work within the chapter to offer appropriate resources in support of certification efforts. Such resources can include study groups and group overviews of certification requirements and ways to prepare for certification.
  • Work with chapter members and national to ensure that members can login and and complete their certifications online successfully or point them to HFMA Members Services.
  • Work with Communications Chair to monthly report new certified members and align with chapter leadership on annual chapter success plan strategies and targets.

General Description

The Communications Committee is responsible for the coordination of information to the chapter members. The committee works closely with the Newsletter Editor and Social Media co-chairs to communicate out chapter information, updates and events.

Goals, Objectives and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn accounts
  • Assist and direct Newsletter Editor when possible in writing and/or obtaining articles for the quarterly newsletters and bi-monthly email blasts
  • Assist Social Media chair in posting to social media accounts and updated on what to share timely before chapter events and activities to inform the membership
  • Work with Enterprise Member Engagement Chair and Membership Chair on ways to reach members

Under the direction of the VP Programs, coordinate the chapter in-person, virtual and hybrid conferences.  

Goals, Objectives and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Treasurer on annual budget for each conference to merge to overall budget
  • Appoint Conference Chairs to act as co-chairs for programs, in organizing, planning and running conferences
  • Work with Demarse to set up conference planning conference calls, and working on conference timeline collaboratively
  • Report to Board meetings and Officers of progress on conference planning
  • Assemble committees to research topics, find speakers and partner with speakers, up to and thru the event

General Description

Led by the VP of Innovation and Member Engagement, this committee encompasses five main areas:  1) Membership; 2) Communication; 3) Enterprise Member Engagement; 4) Networking; and 5) Special Projects.

Goals, Objectives and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Membership to engage members for creating plans and strategy to meet Membership annual growth and retention goals
  • Work with Communication to effectively find paths to educating and informing Membership regarding chapter events and activities
  • Work with Enterprise Member Engagement to connect the chapter to Enterprise organizations that have Enterprise members
  • Work on Networking events for the chapter, including fun activities like sports events and collaboration with other chapters
  • Plan special projects tied to Chapter Success Plan goals annually and incubate projects to the point of strategizing their future operations on the chapter

General Description

The Membership Committee is the front door to the HFMA chapter, and the first point of communication with new members. Membership promotes HFMA to the membership and activates chapter volunteers and leadership to reach membership growth and retention goals.

Goals, Objectives and Responsibilities:

  • Welcome members with an information packet emailed
  • Renew and revise new member packet as required/needed
  • Staff the membership desk at all Chapter education meetings and workshops. Maintain registration lists and distribute programs to attendees. Maintain CPE list for CPAs and display sponsorship sign.
  • Submit new member list to Newsletter Editor each quarter.
  • Develop chapter’s annual membership recruitment and retention plan with the officers, including activities that support chapter growth and goals.
  • Oversee implementation of membership marketing plan, including writing letters to prospective members, securing prospective membership lists.
  • Identifying sources of potential new members and establishing ways to meet the membership goals of net member growth and renewal rate
  • Direct activities for reminding members to renew their membership
  • Direct activities to encourage new and veteran members to participate in volunteering
  • Communicating effectively with other Chairs, Officers and Board to accomplish goals, including delegation of steps to take, and making conference calls happen
  • Encouraging active involvement by finding volunteers to coach as volunteers and promote leaders, and work on succession planning, being intentional and relational connection maker
  • Work with Communications Chair on Welcome Emails and Member related communications to go out on quarterly newsletter and email blasts

General Description

Solicits sponsorship funds for the chapter which are used to cover the educational and social activities not covered through members dues and educational program fees.

Goals, Objectives and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare sponsorship budget in coordination with President and Treasurer
  • Solicit sponsorship funds at the beginning of the year and throughout the year
  • Inform prospective sponsors of the various levels of sponsorship available and recognition available at each level
  • Obtain logo and information from sponsors and arrange advertising copy for email blasts, newsletter and events sponsorships
  • Work with Demarse to order and maintain Sponsorship Boards and ensure Boards are displayed at each educational meeting
  • Ensure payment from each sponsor

General Description

Connects volunteers to chapter leaders for opportunities to serve in the chapter, including to the chapter web page to explore volunteer opportunities.

Goals, Objectives and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate chapter volunteer opportunities
  • Maintain a list of volunteers and areas of interest for potential future leaders
  • Welcome new leadership volunteers to their committee after they sign-up and introduce volunteers to committee chairs and co-chairs as needed
