Your company is integrating two leaders in physician staffing, Merritt Hawkins and Staff Care, to become AMN Healthcare Physician Solutions. Can you tell us why the change?

Our goal with this change is to create a more cohesive physician experience for our clients and candidates, allowing access to all AMN Healthcare resources and support. Our all-in-one strategic approach to permanent and temporary physician staffing increases efficiency, reduces complexity and ultimately improves the patient experience.

What does AMN Healthcare Physician Solutions do, and who can you help in healthcare?

AMN Healthcare Physician Solutions helps healthcare facilities source their physician staffing needs. We oversee more than 3,000 physician recruiting assignments annually and provide access to a network of quality locum tenens, permanent physicians and advanced practitioners to hospitals, medical groups, community health centers and telehealth providers nationwide. We are structured around teams of placement experts, licensing and credentialing specialists, and clinical support professionals.

We have a full suite of physician placement services to meet clients’ needs. We also take the time to learn a client’s business and be a single-source, strategic partner and adviser.

What are some of the biggest challenges for healthcare organizations, and how do your physician service offerings help address these needs?

We see a variety of pain points across all healthcare organizations. Creating AMN Healthcare Physician Solutions by bringing Merritt Hawkins and Staff Care together allows us to address those issues by making us even stronger and better equipping us to provide the flexible, comprehensive solutions, workforce flexibility and smarter operations that will positively impact the client’s bottom line and their patients’ outcomes.

We help clients holistically plan, acquire and engage the full spectrum and sources of talent, from clinical to leadership, to drive improved efficiency, better patient experience, innovative care models, and workforce engagement and retention.

What physician services would you particularly like healthcare organizations to know about?

Physician staffing shortages can be costly to organizations, leading to lost revenue and delays in treatment, long waiting times and even physician burnout.

We find that when clients work with us, we’re able to utilize our database, which is flush with qualified doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurse anesthetists, dental professionals and more to help clients be successful.

Our thorough vetting process ensures that all presented candidates are highly screened and ready to help. AMN Healthcare has a new locum tenens to permanent staffing program, which offers clients a no-risk, all-reward solution. With a shortage of physicians and advanced practitioners nationwide, there is a lot of pressure to get hiring decisions right. Think of the locum tenens period as a “working interview” to help clients find talent aligned with their culture.

What other physician resources do you offer to help healthcare providers?

We also offer NCQA-Certified Credentials Verification. Our credentialing and licensing process for physicians and advanced practice professionals meets the industry’s highest quality standards.
