March 1, 2018 4:05 pm

The Departments of Treasury, Labor and Health and Human Services published a proposed rule amending the definition of short-term, limited duration (STLD) insurance for purposes of its exclusion from the definition of individual health insurance coverage. If the proposed rule is finalized, the definition of maximum coverage period of STLD insurance coverage would be modified to a period of  less than 12 months after the original effective date of the contract from the current rule which limits the duration to less than 3 months with no renewals.
