Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program Proposed Rule Summary

On June 16, 2026, CMS published in the Federal Register (91 FR 36236) a proposed rule to codify the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program (“Negotiation Program”) and establish certain new policies for the Negotiation Program and the Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit Program as required by the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (IRA, P.L. 117-169). CMS also proposes a modification to the fixed combination drug policy.

Comments are due by 5pm on August 17, 2026.
