President’s Welcome
Greetings and Happy New Year!
It is hard to believe my year as chapter President is already half over and it has been an amazing year so far!
In August, our chapter hosted our first-ever Enterprise Member event for Ascension with support from our sponsors – Forvis and Med-Metrix on the Ascension St Vincent campus. Our attendees were treated to breakfast, learned more about their membership benefits from both chapter leadership and the national HFMA Enterprise team, a presentation from Gaurav Gupta, Med-Metrix on “Delivering ROI From Business Intelligence”, and a presentation from Kevin Locke, FORVIS on “Look Back and Focus Forward, State of the Industry and Emerging Leadership Imperative”. The event also qualified for two hours of CPE. If you are an Enterprise Member Organization and would like to have HFMA present at your facility, please let me know.
We cohosted our third annual Women’s Event with our friends from Executive Women in Healthcare (EWHC) on September 29th and collaborated with our HFMA friends from the Illinois and Wisconsin chapters to plan and support the Region 7 Midwest conference in October. Both events were amazing and well attended!
Up next, is our Chapter Volunteer Training Conference (mini-LTC) to be held on Wednesday, February 15th from 1p-5pm. This is the time all current and new chapter volunteers meet to begin planning our events for the 2023-2024 chapter year. If you are interesting in volunteering, please review our committee opportunities here and then register to attend our mini-LTC here. Volunteering is a great way to network, meet new people and have fun while supporting our chapter! Following our mini-LTC will be a Networking and Volunteer Appreciation event that evening.
This year we are combining our Winter and Spring Institutes into one Annual Conference that will be held February 16th and 17th at the Marriott North in Indianapolis. This conference features many requested topics covering important Legislative Updates, CFO Panels, Revenue Flash Talks, Indiana Medicaid after the Public Health Emergency – A Closer Look and More!
We are hosting a second Women’s Event with EWHC on April 26th at the Ritz Charles in Carmel. We are formally moving the event to the spring to better align our calendars, as there are many events already scheduled in the fall.
Speaking of fall, we are just beginning to plan the 2023 Biennial Tri-State Conference, September 20th-22nd our friends from the Ohio and Kentucky HFMA chapters. Join your peers for three days of education, golf, networking and fun as we return to the Belterra Casino Resort. Save the date and we hope to see you there!
HFMA has recently updated HFMA.org and we are working on a couple of enhancements to our chapter website. We have added a past events section and will be adding photos and presentations from last year and this year in the next couple of weeks. On our Job Bank page, we are hosting job postings free of charge. Please complete the Job Posting form, if you would like to post a position for your hospital.
If you have any questions, please email me at [email protected].
