President’s Welcome

Welcome! I am glad you found us. You belong here.

I want to begin by recognizing Paola Turchi, our outgoing president, whose leadership strengthened this chapter and set a strong foundation for what comes next. I am grateful for what she helped build and proud to carry it forward. Thank you to all of you for the incredible opportunity to represent and lead our chapter this year.

My time with this chapter has shaped me both professionally and personally. Getting involved changed how I saw my career and the people in it. That experience is exactly what I want every member to have access to. It is why I am passionate about this year and why the word I am anchoring it to is ACTIVATE.

The truth is, membership only becomes meaningful when you step into it. Education, networking, and professional don’t each their full potential until you engage, and that is what ACTIVATE South Texas is all about. This will be our chapter’s framework for making that real, built around two pillars introduced by HFMA CEO Ann Jordan at Leadership Summit: You Belong Here and Choose Impact.

The journey moves through five stages:

Wherever you are in your career, there is a place for you in this cycle. We meet you where you are and build from there.

This year, that looks like:
