Powered by HFMA, Vitalic Health was designed to convene diverse healthcare stakeholders to address the most pressing challenges negatively impacting affordability, health outcomes and industry financial sustainability.
What is the Vitalic Health movement?
Vitalic Health is all about the pursuit of financial sustainability and better outcomes in U.S. healthcare. Healthcare expenditures grow annually while affordability and access worsen, and Americans are not getting healhier for increased spending. Yet we’re still talking about decades old issues, like administrative waste. The heart of the Vitalic Health movement is meaningful action, lower costs and healthier lives. This requires convening to benefit all, and real action in service to payment model transformation and macro-level system improvement. We envision a better system for all.
What are key areas of focus for Vitalic Health projects?
There are currently three main components of Vitalic Health, including:
- Impact Measurement Institute: The first output was the “U.S. Healthcare Vitals Tracker,” a first-of-its-kind tool designed to monitor and measure the U.S. healthcare ecosystem’s vitality. The Vitals Tracker scores the system based on factors of affordability and health span, and serves as the context of our efforts.
- Swarm Studies: These studies identify key healthcare industry problems perceived as difficult to solve because of their complex and interconnected nature. Vitalic Health partners with stakeholders to explore new solutions for driving improvements.
- Payment Model Consortium: This unique national consortium brings together health systems, payers, employers, technology, retail health and policymakers to collaboratively design, test and scale sustainable payment models.

We strive to convene all stakeholders from the healthcare ecosystem, including leaders of health systems, payer organizations, fintech platforms, retail health, purchasers and more.

Is access to Vitalic Health opportunities part of my HFMA membership?
While elements of Vitalic Health may be shared with HFMA members through content, education, and live events, Vitalic activities are offered separately and are not included with HFMA membership. However, HFMA members interested in becoming Vitalic Collaborators have access to special discounts.
