FY21 Inpatient Prospective Payment System Proposed Rule Summary

On May 11, 2020, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released its proposed rule describing federal fiscal year (FY) 2021 policies and rates for Medicare’s prospective payment systems for acute care inpatient hospitals (IPPS) and the long-term care hospital prospective payment system (LTCH PPS). The final rule will be published in the Federal Register on May 29, 2020. The public comment period ends at 5:00 PM on July 10, 2020. This document summarizes the proposed rule.
