President’s Welcome

Welcome to the Sunflower (Kansas) Chapter!
I am honored to serve as President of the Sunflower Chapter for the 2026-2027 year. As I look ahead, one phrase has quickly become my theme for this year, “Healthcare is changing, and so are we.” The challenges facing Kansas healthcare are real, but so is the opportunity in front of us. This is a year to move with purpose, think bigger, and focus on practical steps that create real value for our members and their organizations.
HFMA has the opportunity to be more than a place where education is delivered. We can be a place where ideas are sharpened, relationships are formed, challenges are confronted, and solutions begin to take shape. At a time when healthcare organizations are facing extraordinary pressure, our chapter can help bring people together around a shared purpose: strengthening the financial health and long-term sustainability of healthcare across Kansas.
This year is about practical application. We want members to leave our events, conversations, and collaborations with tools they can use, ideas they can act on, and connections that make their work more effective. Whether you are new to healthcare finance, leading a department, supporting a rural hospital, or helping guide strategy, there is a place for you in this work.
Thank you to our past leaders, board members, committee chairs, volunteers, business partners, and members for your continued support of the Sunflower Chapter. A special thank you to Casey Cockrum for her leadership during the 2025-2026 year. I am grateful for the opportunity to build on the strong foundation created by those who have served before me.
I am excited for the year ahead. Healthcare is changing, and so are we. Let’s make this a year of practical tools, stronger connections, greater value, and a stronger voice for Kansas healthcare.
