CY16 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Proposed Rule Fact Sheet

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released a proposed rule with comment period in the July 15, 2015, Federal Register that would revise payment polices under the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS), and make other policy changes related to Medicare Part B payment. These proposed changes would be applicable to services furnished in calendar year 2016 (CY16). The rule also includes proposals associated with PFS payments, including the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS), the Physician Value-Based Payment Modifier (VM) and Physician Feedback Reporting Program, updates to the Physician Compare website, and the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program. Also included in the proposal is the potential expansion of the Comprehensive Primary Care Initiative (CPC).
