HFMA Comments on Federal Independent Dispute Resolution Operations, Proposed Rule

In a December 1, 2023, letter to HHS, U.S. Department of the Treasury, and U.S. Department of Labor, HFMA comments on CMS’ Federal Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) Operations, Proposed Rule, Federal Register (Vol. 88, No. 212). The proposed rule was published on November 3, 2023. In the letter, HFMA provided input on the proposed adjustments to the operational aspects of the IDR process pertaining to:

• Batching Requirements
• Claim Adjustment Reason Codes and Remittance Advice Remark Codes
• Timeframes Within the Federal IDR Process
