President’s Welcome

Stepping into the role of Arizona HFMA Chapter President is both an incredible honor and a responsibility I do not take lightly. HFMA has played an important role throughout my career – not only in professional growth, but in the relationships, mentorship, and sense of community that make this industry so unique.
Arizona HFMA is a strong and innovative chapter because of the people who lead, volunteer, and support one another. What makes this chapter special is not only the expertise of its members, but also the genuine care and connections built along the way. I am deeply grateful to the many leaders who came before me for their dedication, vision, and commitment to building the strong foundation our chapter stands on today.
As we look ahead, my focus is simple: meeting our members where they are.
Our members are not all in the same place – geographically, professionally, or personally. Some are seasoned leaders navigating transformation across complex organizations. Others are early in their careers looking for connection, mentorship, and opportunity. Some are providers, payers, consultants, educators, or students. Each perspective matters, and each brings value to our chapter.
This year, two important messages will help guide our work.
The first comes from Ann Jordan’s reminder that “You Belong Here.” Those words reflect the kind of chapter we will continue building – one where members feel welcomed, supported, valued, and encouraged to grow.
The second comes from incoming HFMA National Chair Matthew Cox and his theme, “Choose Impact.” In a rapidly evolving healthcare environment, activity alone is not enough. Our focus must remain on creating meaningful impact for our members, organizations, and communities through practical education, stronger connections, leadership development, and statewide engagement.
We will continue expanding application-focused education, on-demand learning, and opportunities for members to connect and grow across Arizona. We will also continue modernizing how we communicate and engage so members clearly see the value HFMA brings to their professional journey.
I also believe leadership is not limited to a title. Leadership happens every day when people mentor, volunteer, teach, collaborate, and help move the mission forward. Arizona HFMA is filled with people who do exactly that.
And, true to Arizona HFMA fashion, we are going to have a lot of fun along the way. The energy, authenticity, and relationships within this chapter are part of what make it so special and continue to turn colleagues into lifelong connections.
To our board members, committee leaders and volunteers, thank you for your willingness to serve and lead. Your time, ideas, and commitment are what drive this chapter forward.
To our sponsors and business partners – thank you for your continued support and partnership. Your investment allows us to create impactful educational programming, meaningful events, and opportunities for our members across the state.
And to our members – thank you for being the heart of Arizona HFMA. I am excited for what we will accomplish together this year as we continue building a chapter that meets members where they are, where people know they belong, where we intentionally choose impact, and where members are excited to engage and grow together.
