As someone who is deeply invested in our Metropolitan New York Healthcare Finance Community, I’ve seen firsthand how much we can accomplish when we bring our collective energy together. As you browse through, see which areas vibe with your personal and professional goals. I always say that volunteering is a two-way street, you truly get back just as much as you give.
And if you’ve never served on a committee before? Please don’t let that hold you back. We pride ourselves on creating a supportive, collaborative environment where everyone can thrive. It’s a space where you can:

Our chapter year runs June 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027 and you can give as much or as little time as your schedule allows. On average, it’s just 1 to 2 hours a month. It’s a small investment of time that can make a massive difference in our industry and in your own professional journey.

Committees

Work alongside your peers to develop educational programs covering new and trending topics in finance, reimbursement, and audit.
Collaborate amongst the Finance, Women in Leadership, and Revenue Cycle committee chairs to assist with their events and brainstorm. Develop programs for the broad membership community.
Address key industry challenges and best practices in the areas of patient access, HIM, and revenue cycle through programming and networking opportunities.
Assist Education committees in sourcing speakers and topics for virtual education.
Join leaders and aspiring leaders as they create a program focused on enhancing leadership competencies, adapting in rapidly changing environments, and breaking the glass ceiling.
Be strategic and innovative in helping us reach our Metro NY healthcare community. This includes social media postings, newsletters, and promotion of conferences and networking events.
Coordinate the chapter’s new member outreach, engage with current membership, and communicate the value of HFMA Metro NY.
Plan and execute activities for members, new members, friends, and family.
Solicit and retain annual Corporate Sponsors, Provider and Academic Partners, and Event Sponsors to drive incremental revenue for the chapter. Our partners are vital to the chapter being able to provide quality education and networking opportunities.
