CY 2027 Physician Fee Schedule Proposed Specialty Impact Tables

This spreadsheet reflects a detailed specialty impact analyses based on the 2027 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule proposed rule (CMS-1848-P). It includes information on almost all of the designated Medicare specialties (almost 90 specialties) and the associated detail. This includes, for example, cardiology, emergency medicine, family practice, general surgery, internal medicine, radiology, radiation oncology, podiatry, and rheumatology. The user chooses the specialty of interest, such as family practice in a dropdown box, and the spreadsheet displays the overall impact for that specialty and detail code level information on the top 250 codes as ranked by estimated 2027 total payment. There is also a separate spreadsheet tab that shows the overall estimated impacts by specialty – similar to the regulatory impact table in the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule proposed rule. The estimates vary from CMS’ regulatory impact table (Table D-B5) in the proposed rule, as they incorporate relative value unit and conversion factor changes in its impacts.
