President’s Welcome
As we begin a new HFMA year, I want to start by recognizing and thanking our past leadership. Hilary Christiansen led the Iowa Chapter through a strong and successful year and I’m grateful for the momentum she and those before her have built.
Thank you to all who have served and continue to support our success. Our chapter is powered by a dedicated group of volunteers who create educational opportunities, foster connections and keep our organization strong. I’m grateful for their time and commitment and I encourage anyone who’s considered getting involved to take that step and fill out our volunteer interest form here: volunteer—HFMA can have a lasting impact on your career.
We’re also fortunate to have a strong network of sponsors and business partners whose support makes our programming possible. Beyond that, they bring valuable perspectives and collaboration that strengthen our member experience. Thank you to the sponsors and business partners for your continued partnership.
Looking ahead, my focus for the coming year is centered on enhancing the overall membership experience and continuing to grow the value of the connections we build through HFMA. This organization has played a meaningful role in my own career—providing not only education but a network of relationships that has been instrumental in my growth as a leader within the Iowa Chapter.
We’ve all heard the phrase, “it’s not what you know, it’s who you know,” and HFMA provides a unique opportunity to build those connections in a way that truly matters. We will also continue to build on our new partnership with Iowa State University’s Healthcare Administration program as a foundation for growing student membership, ensuring we are investing in the future of our profession while creating opportunities for mentorship and engagement across all levels of membership. From students just getting started, to members pursuing certifications and educational advancement, to Enterprise Members leading the growth of our membership and to those attending events to connect and collaborate with peers—my goal is to make this a valuable and rewarding year for everyone involved.
I encourage each of you to lean in this year—whether that’s building a new connection, pursuing a certification, or getting more involved in the chapter. I look forward to connecting with you at an upcoming event. I am excited for what lies ahead and honored to serve as your President.
