President’s Welcome

Chris Mouradian

Dear NNE HFMA Members,

As summer rolls on and we settle into a new chapter year, I am excited and honored to serve as your President of the Northern New England Chapter for 2026-2027. I have been a member of this chapter since its inception in 2020, most recently serving on the Board of Directors, and I have seen firsthand how much this community gives back to the people who work in healthcare finance across Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.

This year, we are organizing our work around three clear priorities that came directly out of our leadership planning:

Making certification more achievable. We want HFMA certification to be visible, understandable, and within reach for our members and their organizations. We will build a simple certification guide, share it at our events, and connect interested members with the right HFMA resources and support.

Strengthening how the chapter runs. Great volunteers deserve great tools. We are standing up a shared chapter hub for our calendar, rosters, responsibilities, and resources so information is easy to find, follow-through is easier, and leadership transitions are smoother year to year.

Opening the door for the next generation. We are creating a practical pathway into healthcare finance for students and early-career professionals through education, networking, scholarships, and hands-on chapter involvement, building on our relationships with the University of New Hampshire, Plymouth State University, and others.

Our Board met in June to launch the year, and I’m pleased to welcome our newest Board members: Jon Menard (Integrated Revenue Integrity), Julie Paquette (MaineHealth), and Tamera Sanders (Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital). I want to thank every one of our Board members, officers, committee chairs and co-chairs, and volunteers who give countless hours to make this chapter thrive. My thanks as well to our sponsors, whose support makes so much of what we do possible. And a special thank-you to our Immediate Past President, Chelsea Desrosiers, for her leadership during the 2025-2026 year and her continued guidance.

It is my privilege to introduce your 2026-2027 leadership team:

Then, on Friday, November 20, we host our Women in Leadership Conference at the SNHU Millyard in Manchester, NH. Watch your inbox and our LinkedIn page for registration details and more programming throughout the year.

If you, a colleague, or a member of your team is interested in joining HFMA or getting involved with any of our committees, please reach out to me, any of our chapter leaders, or contact us through our chapter email at [email protected]. There is a place here for everyone, whether you can give an hour or a year.
