Georgia Chapter

President’s Welcome

I am honored and privileged to serve as President of the Georgia Chapter of HFMA membership for the year 2022-2023.  First and foremost, I would like to thank those who have mentored me throughout the years and allowed me to embrace everything that this chapter and association has afforded me. The past couple of years have been challenging for most of us and I know we have been pushed to our limits as the pandemic consumed control of our lives.

Our theme for this year is Disrupt the Disruption. The pandemic has driven disruption, innovation, and a new reality within the workplace of our healthcare community so now is the time for our leadership to accept the challenge. We are witnessing a volcanic eruption with the likes of the ‘Great Resignation’, remote workforce and employers forced to be more flexible to retain and keep their employees satisfied all without losing sight of achieving success.  The pandemic has changed the way we look into the future, however, as a chapter we have always persevered and attained the goals that we have laid out over the years, and I don’t see this year and the years to come being any different. The focus is to continue to move forward together, embrace whatever comes our way and win with hard work, collaboration, and a positive attitude. With that in mind, I encourage you to check out the Events we conduct throughout the year, which includes a mix of in-person activities and digital outreach you can access at your convenience. I’d be lying if I were to say that I wasn’t excited about leading the chapter this year. I feel like I have a very strong team that is comprised of seasoned veterans coupled with new leaders that are eager to pitch in, learn and take the chapter to the next level. Our focus will be on providing Quality Education to the provider community both in urban and rural areas; working with our Business Partners to provide subject matter expertise and continue to add value to the providers so that we retain current membership and add new members both individual and enterprise. Certification is always on the top step of our goals each year and with the exceptional success we have had over the last two years, even with a pandemic, I see this continuing without missing a beat.

This year will be challenging like past years but with the leadership and knowledge that I have within the chapter, I am confident that I can promise a year of fun, engagement, and expanding our knowledge so that we can Disrupt the Disruption in a positive and impactful way.
