President’s Welcome

As President of Georgia HFMA , it is my honor to welcome you to another exciting year for our chapter.
Georgia HFMA has long been recognized as a chapter defined by collaboration, innovation, mentorship, and a deep commitment to advancing healthcare finance. I am incredibly grateful for the leaders who came before me and for the strong foundation they built through integrity, service, and an unwavering investment in people. I am especially thankful to our volunteers, sponsors, provider members, students, and chapter leaders whose dedication continues to make this organization one of the strongest in the country.
I also want to recognize and build upon the outstanding foundation established under the leadership of Ashley Hill and our previous board of directors. Ashley’s theme, “Timeless Challenges…Fresh Solutions,” emphasized the importance of connection, innovation, and collaboration across every area of healthcare finance.
When I attended my first HFMA conference early in my career, I had no idea how profoundly this organization would shape my career and my perspective on leadership. What immediately stood out to me was that HFMA was more than a professional association—it was a community. Leaders took the time to invest in me, challenge me, encourage me, and create opportunities for growth. Through mentorship, education, certifications, and meaningful relationships, HFMA helped shape the leader I am today.
That experience continues to influence my vision for this year.
Our theme for 2026–2027 is “Passion for Patients, Precision in Finance.”
Passion and precision may seem like very different ideas, but in healthcare, they are inseparable. Passion keeps us grounded in our purpose and the patients we serve, while precision ensures we lead with discipline, accountability, and operational excellence.
Every financial decision we make ultimately impacts patients, providers, and communities. Precision in finance is about more than numbers—it is about creating and sustaining access to care, improving the patient financial experience, and strengthening the future of healthcare. Passion reminds us why the work matters; precision ensures we execute it effectively.
As healthcare continues to evolve through regulatory change, workforce challenges, technology transformation, and growing financial pressures, our role as healthcare finance leaders has never been more important. HFMA provides an opportunity for us to learn from one another, share expertise, challenge conventional thinking, and continue raising the standard for our profession.
I also believe deeply in the importance of building meaningful relationships across every part of healthcare. Collaboration between providers, payers, vendors, consultants, and business partners is essential to solving the complex challenges facing healthcare today. Our chapter is strongest when we bring diverse perspectives together with a shared commitment to improving outcomes for patients and organizations alike.
Throughout the upcoming year, we will continue to build on these initiatives from the leaders before me:
- Broaden Membership Reach: Enhance access to educational resources, professional development opportunities, and member engagement across Georgia by expanding HFMA’s presence into more local communities and health systems.
- Strengthen Collaboration Between Providers and Business Partners: Continue delivering meaningful value to all member groups by fostering strong connections between providers and industry experts through roundtables, quarterly provider discussions, and collaborative case study sessions offered both virtually and in person.
- Invest in Students and Emerging Professionals: Grow HFMA’s partnerships with colleges and universities throughout Georgia by serving as a trusted resource for career services departments, while providing resume guidance, interview preparation, and mentorship to students and early-career professionals.
- Enhance Statewide Community Engagement: Support initiatives that improve community health awareness and patient education by participating in outreach programs, fundraising efforts, and volunteer activities that promote healthier and more informed communities across Georgia
As we begin this chapter year together, I encourage every member to become actively involved. Attend conferences, pursue certifications, volunteer, mentor emerging leaders, and engage with the incredible network of professionals that makes Georgia HFMA special. The value of this organization grows exponentially when we invest in one another.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your President. I am excited about what we will accomplish together and confident that, by combining passion with precision, we can continue elevating both our chapter and the broader impact of healthcare finance.
