President’s Welcome

Welcome to the Massachusetts–Rhode Island HFMA Chapter website! I am very excited to serve as the President for 2026-2027. I am deeply grateful to the many past leaders, board members, volunteers, and sponsors whose passion and dedication have created a chapter that continues to thrive.

Healthcare is evolving at an extraordinary pace. Financial pressures, regulatory complexity, workforce challenges, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence are transforming the way we operate and lead. Amid this change, HFMA remains a trusted resource-a place where professionals come together to learn, connect, collaborate, and grow.

Education is the foundation of everything we do. Our members rely on our chapter to help them stay informed, competitive, and confident in an industry that never stands still. Whether someone is beginning their career, advancing into leadership, or navigating new executive challenges, access to relevant, high-quality education is essential.

Another key priority this year is supporting professional certification and development. HFMA certifications-including CRCR, CHFP, and many others-represent expertise, commitment, and professional achievement. We will continue to expand awareness, resources, and support for members pursuing these important credentials and celebrate those who achieve them.

We are committed to listening closely to our members and evolving our programs to meet their needs more effectively. We will continue to focus on timely and impactful topics including revenue cycle optimization, value-based care, data analytics, workforce strategy, compliance, innovation, and the future of healthcare finance.

I am especially excited to work alongside our outstanding board members, committee leaders, volunteers, and sponsors. Their expertise, creativity, and dedication are what make this chapter successful. HFMA is strongest when members are actively engaged-through volunteering, mentoring, speaking, participating in committees, and sharing new ideas that help shape the future of our organization.
