Regional Executive’s Welcome
Dear Colleagues, Members and Members-to-be,
I am honored to serve as the Regional Executive for HFMA Region 1 commencing June 1, 2024. The role of the regional executive is to serve as the primary volunteer between volunteers of the local level and the Association while assisting chapter leaders in serving members. Together our goal is to promote and lead change efforts to drive HFMA’s strategies.
Region 1 is comprised of three (3) chapters, each offering exceptional events, educational opportunities and industry content. Those chapters include:
I am pleased to share that our Region’s showcase event, the Region 1 conference held May 30th through May 31, 2024, was a great success with over 300 attendees. The content was outstanding, and we all enjoyed returning to Mohegan Sun for this event. Save the date for next year at Mohegan! (May 29th and May 30th, 2025)
I have been a part of the HFMA family since 2007 and have benefitted immeasurably from this relationship. I have met talented and energetic healthcare leaders who share a passion for the healthcare industry. HFMA membership and volunteerism provides endless opportunities to learn from each other while navigating the challenges and possibilities we all face.
HFMA’s chair, Marc Scher, believes healthcare finance professionals can effectively tackle today’s huge industry challenges by embracing the motto of the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division: Sempre Avanti, or “Always Forward.” Together let’s make sure that we are helping our institutions always move forward!
