The Metropolitan Philadelphia Chapter of HFMA offers an engaging volunteer-based mentorship program to individuals who are seeking mentorship, and those who are interested in being mentors. The Chapter has over 950 members, which creates a very large network of healthcare finance professionals. It provides robust access to extensive healthcare education and opportunities to network and build lasting relationships.
As a mentee, you’ll be uniquely paired with an industry leader who is passionate about their craft, has a great track record of success, and has a personal desire to volunteer their time to assist others with attaining their personal and professional development goals. Mentor’s greatly benefit from advising mentee’s because it gives them an increased sense of purpose, helps develop their leadership and communication skills, and offers new and exciting associations all while paying it forward.
As a mentor, you’ll be uniquely paired with a mentee who is passionate about their craft, seeking guidance from a mentor to assist with developing, executing and achieving their personal and professional goals. Mentee’s may be gearing up for a promotional opportunity, looking to improve their management styles, people skills, communication skills, or simply have a desire to proactively enhance their career knowledge and development with a dedicated mentor. Mentee’s greatly benefit from their mentor relationships because the entire purpose is to offer the dedicated people, time, education, networking, resources, tools, and one-on-one advising to make them better. Our mentors benefit greatly too, but its all about developing the mentees.
HFMA membership is NOT required to participate in our mentorship program. However, becoming a member is rewarding and highly recommended to supplement your mentorship experience. The committee begins accepting applicants applications in June and the matching will be finalized by September. This program begins annually in the fall and runs through June which is in conjunction with HFMA’s fiscal year end.
