President’s Welcome

As we move through another exciting and productive year, I want to take a moment to pause and reflect on the tremendous momentum within our HFMA Metro Philadelphia Chapter—and, most importantly, to thank our members, sponsors, speakers, and volunteers who continue to make our chapter thrive.
This spring, our chapter delivered two standout educational events that exemplify the value HFMA brings to our local healthcare finance community. Our Spring Institute was an outstanding success, bringing together a robust group of professionals for timely, thought‑provoking discussions on the challenges and opportunities facing healthcare organizations today. The caliber of dialogue, the practical insights shared, and the level of engagement throughout the day reinforced why HFMA remains such a trusted forum for learning, connection, and professional growth.
Equally impactful was our Reimbursement Seminar, which once again proved to be one of our most anticipated and relevant programs of the year. As reimbursement dynamics continue to evolve at both the federal and payer levels, this session delivered critical updates, expert perspectives, and actionable takeaways that our members can immediately apply in their organizations. The strong attendance and active participation underscored just how essential this topic remains—and how effectively our chapter is meeting that need.
Beyond these events, I am incredibly proud of the overall strength and vitality of our chapter. From ongoing educational programming and networking opportunities to the dedication of our committees and board, the Metro Philadelphia chapter continues to serve as a hub for collaboration and leadership within our region. Our ability to consistently deliver high‑quality content while fostering meaningful professional relationships is a direct result of the commitment and passion of our volunteers and partners.
As president, I am continually inspired by the depth of expertise and generosity of time that our members bring to HFMA. Whether you are attending events, speaking on a panel, mentoring a colleague, or supporting our programs as a sponsor, your involvement directly contributes to the success and sustainability of our chapter.
Looking ahead, we remain focused on delivering relevant education, expanding opportunities for member engagement, and supporting the professional development of healthcare finance leaders at every stage of their careers. The months ahead promise continued opportunities specifically with our Data & Analytics Seminar, Women’s Event, Accounting & Auditing Seminar and Golf/Spa event.
Thank you for being an engaged and valued member of the HFMA Metro Philadelphia community. I look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event and continuing the important work we do together.
Warm regards,
Sara Smith
President, HFMA Metro Philadelphia Chapter
