Hello – my name is Kelly Akkerman.  I work for Mineral Community Hospital in Superior, MT as the Business Office/HIM Director.  In this role I am using my 25+ years’ experience in revenue cycle to bring them to the next level in financial excellence.  Going through the chairs in MT HFMA has been such an inspiration to me personally and professionally and achieving CHFP was simply something I never dreamed I could accomplish but did!  Currently serving as Regional Executive and being that liaison between the local Chapters in Region 10 and headquarters continues to enhance and grow my knowledge in the industry and create lifelong friendships.

Jonathan Wiik has over 30 years of healthcare experience in acute care, health IT and insurance settings. He started his career as a hospital transporter and served in clinical operations, patient access, billing, case management and many other roles at a large not-for-profit acute care hospital and prominent commercial payer before serving as Chief Revenue Officer.

In his current role as Vice President of Health Insights at FinThrive, he is responsible for leading healthcare data insights and research.  Wiik works closely with the market and hospitals on industry best practices for revenue management. He is considered an expert in the industry for healthcare finance, legislation, revenue management and strategic transformation.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in sports medicine and holds two master’s degrees in healthcare administration and business.

Bart Shea, National Sales Director with BC Service has a long history in Revenue Cycle Management. Bart started his career in 1997 with a medical collection agency, and quickly became part of the executive leadership. Over his career, he has held positions as Director of Insurance Resolution, Collection Manager and National Sales Director. With a career spanning over two decades, his depth of knowledge and leadership makes him a valuable addition to the Region 10 Regional Executive team. Bart holds an HFMA CRCR certification and is always striving to achieve more knowledge within revenue cycle.
